Brad Braune
September -December 2004

Brad Braune's Western-theme watercolors highlight the life of the cowboy and the West with a softness not often associated with this genre. The work of this San Antonio-based artist and native Texan artist has been exhibited throughout the country and abroad. Braune received an architecture degree from Texas Tech University, where he also studied art and painting.  After practicing as an architect for many years, most notably with the prestigious firm of Ford, Powell, and Carson, he left his architectural career and began painting full time.  In addition to
designing the first Texas Folklife Festival poster, a now-familiar symbol of the nationally-recognized festival, he created the original scenic backdrop for the cult play, A Tuna Christmas.
