Edward Gonzales Sr., 91, of Corona, Calif., died Monday, July 11, 2005.

A former Beeville resident, Mr. Gonzales was born on October 13, 1913. He was a retired employee with Texaco refinery and a Merchant Marine during World War II. Mr. Gonzales was a member of the Catholic church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Hernandez Gonzales.

Survivors include his daughter, Margaret (Spiros) Kosmetatos of Crockett; a son, Edward (Edna C.) Gonzales Jr. of Moreno Valley, Calif.; a sister, Margaret Perez; two nieces, Mary Louise and Dolores Perez; three nephews, Alfred, Arthur and Emile Perez, all of Port Arthur; two grandchildren, Monica De La Rosa and Ileana Gonzales of Katy and two great-grandsons, Gavin Gonzales and Alec De La Rosa.

Graveside services were held Sunday at 5 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Deacon Manuel Carranco officiating.
