On August 27, 2003 Mr. Onesimo “Onie” Lopez Sr. was taken into the arms of our Lord. He was born on Oct. 11, 1929. Mr. Lopez was preceded in death by his wife Elida C. Lopez and his parents Vicente Lopez Sr. and his mother Maria Torres and 3 sisters; Martina “Tila” Cantu, Concepcion “Chona” Lopez and Isabel “Chavela” Gomez 5 brothers; Cristobal, Adon, Santana, Salvador and Vicente Lopez Sr. He is survived one daughter; Elsa (Ruben) Gonzales of Beeville, Texas, six sons Onesimo Lopez Jr., Ernest (Lena) Lopez, Larry (Cindy) Lopez, Leo (Camilla) Lopez and Aldo (Josie) Lopez all of Beeville, Texas and Joe Anthony (Linda) Lopez of Mesquite, Texas; one sister; Eva Lopez Gamez of Beeville, Texas 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Lopez was a retired chef and a devoted catholic he was married on September of 1978 to his loving wife Elida Contreras Lopez. Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel and Funeral Mass was held on Saturday August 30, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial was at Beeville Memorial Park.
