Candlelight Vigil
Beeville, Texas - September 18, 2001
In remembrance of those that perished on the morning of September 11, 2001, KICKER 106 along with the community of Beeville held a candlelight vigil at
A.C. Jones High School on September 17,
2001 to pay our respects to those that lost their lives in the NYC, Washington, and Pittsburgh terrorist attacks.
Those that joined KICKER 106 for the candlelight vigil were, Martin
Montez: Master of Ceremony, A.C. Jones High School ROTC, A.C. Jones High School Band, Pastor Jesse
Berthold, Bebe Adamez: General Manager of KICKER 106, Mayor Kenneth Chesshir, Judge Jose
Aliseda, BISD Superintendent Jim Miller, CBC President John Brockman, T.D.C.J. Assistant Warden Charlie
Ellingburg, Coastal Bend College S.G.A. Representative Bethany Everette, State Representative Gene Seaman,
B.P.D. Rick Smith, Beeville Fire Chief Donnie Morris and Youth Minister Big Joe Boyd. And of course, the people that were there to show that our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families in this time of need.
There were about 600 people that attended this vigil. It was reassuring to see such a large turnout at the football stadium. This gathering shows that the American people will not stand to be tormented by senseless acts of terrorism. And we know that as we send our solders to war we are in good hands. For our Armed Forces will not see what is ahead of them. What they will see is what they leave behind, that is worth fighting for, Their Families, Friends and Freedom. We will prevail! God Bless
America!
