Letter from Teresa Holland
May 29, 2003

Dear Friend:

We cordially invite you to participate in our 66th Annual Bee County Chamber of Commerce Parade, which will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 10:30 a.m.

This event is held in conjunction with the Fourth Annual Bee County Family Fall Fest that will be held in downtown Beeville and at the Bee County Coliseum. The parade will begin a fun filled day of activities. Vendors, exhibits, games, a carnival and a variety of entertainment will take place all day. There will be no grounds admission, so come and enjoy the day with us.

First, second and third place trophies will be awarded in the following categories: Chamber of Commerce & Cities, Commercial, Non-Commercial, Youth Entries, Decorated and Antique Cars, Mounted Groups, and Horse Drawn Vehicles. A grand prize trophy will be awarded to the best overall entry. This year’s parade will not have a designated theme. Use your imagination to promote your business, organization or just enter and have fun. Add music to your entry to make the parade more exciting.

You have been a very important part of our parade in the past and your entry this year will be greatly appreciated. Help us celebrate this special event by your participation.

Enclosed you will find your entry blank. Please return it by October 9th, for a better parade position. Entries received after this date will be added to the end of the lineup.

Judging will begin at 9:00 AM. Additional information can be obtained by calling 361-358-3267.

Sincerely,
Teresa Holland, Parade Chairman

To bands interested in participating
Letter from Jim Miller and Teresa Holland
May 29, 2003

Dear Director,

The Bee County Chamber of Commerce/CVB is currently making plans for this year’s 66th Annual Parade. This event is held in conjunction with our 4th Annual Bee County Family Fall Fest which will be held on October 16, 17 & 18th. You and your band are cordially invited to participate in this year’s parade which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18th at 10:30 AM. (Application & other information enclosed) The parade ends in the downtown area where other activities are held.

This year all bands will be judged on their overall performance and appearance during this parade. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in three categories. 1.) bands with 50 or less members, 2.) bands with 50 to 100 members & 3.) bands with over 100 members. Pictures of the winning bands will be taken during the parade and will be published in our newspaper. They will also appear on the chamber’s website for all to view. Families of the band members will be able to view and copy these pictures. Judges will be located at the reviewing stand in front of city hall. Trophies will be awarded immediately following the parade at 12:00 noon at Stage # 1 adjacent to the Bee County Courthouse and free sodas will be available at the end of the parade route for all band members. The free drinks will be located in the parking lot of Prosperity Bank.

There is no admission fee to the grounds, therefore, plan to attend and enjoy the day in Beeville. We are anxiously awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,
 Jim Miller, President
 Teresa Holland, Parade Chairman.
